"Beast On The Moon" in Quebec Wins Big on Award Night

Richard would like to wish a heartfelt and hearty congratulations to the cast and crew of Beast on the Moon in Quebec, as they have walked away from their awards night with three major wins. Below is an excerpt from a press release provided by Trident Theatre.
The Nicky-Roy Award, which recognizes the exceptional talent of a young actor who has been practicing for less than three years, is awarded to Ariane Bellavance-Fafard for her role as Seta Tomasian in A Beast on the Move. Richard Kalinoski's Beast on the Moon, translated by Daniel Loayza, adapted and directed by Amélie Bergeron, presented at La Bordée. The jury recognized the work of Ariane Bellavance-Fafard for her sensitive and nuanced interpretation of a woman in search of identity and humanity.
The Bernard Bonnier Prize, which recognizes the exceptional work of a musician or a musician, is awarded this year to Pascal Robitaille for the sound environment of Richard Kalinoski's piece Beast on the Moon, translation by Daniel Loayza, adaptation and staging of Amélie Bergeron, presented at La Bordée. The jury was seduced by the sound environment of Pascal Robitaille who brilliantly succeeded in wrapping us in a musical universe that echoed the beloved country we had to leave.
The Théâtre du Vieux-Québec Fund Award, which recognizes the exceptional work of a costume designer, is awarded to Julie Morel for the costume design of Richard Kalinoski's play Beast on the Moon. Translation of Daniel Loayza, adaptation and staging of Amélie Bergeron, presented at La Bordée. The jury was charmed by the work of Julie Morel who was able to translate with accuracy and refinement by the tones and the textures, the truth of the characters.
